CLE Subsidy Grants

The CLE Subsidy Grant program was established to assist local and minority bar associations and pro bono organizations that have limited resources, in bringing quality CLE activities to their area.

Applications will be reviewed by the College Board’s sub-committee on the basis of need. Resulting proposals will be voted upon by the College board at regular meetings held in the fall, at mid-year and in the spring.

The maximum annual grant is limited to $5,000.00 per association/organization.

Application for CLE subsidy grant

The Board of Directors of the College of the State Bar of Texas established a CLE Subsidy Grant program to assist local and minority bar associations and pro bono organizations that have limited resources in bringing quality CLE activities to their areas; fill a need for attorneys in the geographic area served, and; not already be otherwise available in that geographic area. Applications will be based on need and reviewed by a State Bar College Board subcommittee, with a maximum annual grant limit of $5,000 per association. Grant proposals will be voted on by the College Board at regular meetings held in the fall, at mid-year, and in the spring.

    Based upon your estimated attendance, what will be the overall cost per credit hour of this CLE activity per attendee? You can find this number by dividing the total cost of the program by the number of expected lawyers attending the event, and further dividing that number by the number of hours of CLE credit to be earned. (For example, event cost = $2,500 ÷ 25 attendees = $100 per attendee; ÷ 5.0 hours credit = $20 cost per hour)
